Whilst we wait on the final few bits and bobs for mikes red and white bus before he comes to collect, its time to start work on the next addition to the Brookside hall of fame.
I haven't currently got the pictures to hand of the bus as we collected it from the docks, but here are a few shots of the work so far. She is a 1967 pop top Westy from the sunshine state across the pond.
All in all she isn't a bad a bus, a bit of damage to the front so we have already wipped that off in preparation for her nose job. The usual areas of rust in the cab floor, outer sills and battery tray but, generally though not too rusty which is always a good start :-)
We have had all the seams, gutters, engine compartment and other hard to reach areas sand blasted, It was a incredibly noisy and messy job but well worth it. It has highlighted a few areas that need attention and will without a doubt help to keep the dreaded tin-worm at bay!
Its new owner Ronnie is keen to get her on the road as quick as possible and has already decided he wants her sky blue. So lots of updates likely to happen over the next few weeks.
Anyway here are a few pics, more to follow as progress is made.....
